Cologne guitarist Tobias Hoffmann, who is known from bands like Expressway Sketches or Parachutes, has jazzed in eleven well-known rock and pop melodies in his trio in very different ways. From the Beatles to Charles Mingus, from Rio Reiser to Jimi Hendrix, from Fleetwood Mac to Miles Davis. The choice is daring, because Hoffmann has to compete with great role models. But he does it with flying colours. For each piece he finds a new starting point, with great enthusiasm he pulls his horses up from behind, lures the listener into the trap. This album shows the panoramic influence of one of Germany's most visionary jazz guitarists, who is still waiting for his international breakthrough. With "11 Famous Songs Tenderly Messed Up" Hoffmann is also recommended for rock listeners who like classic trios like Cream, Jimi Hendrix Experience or the Rory Gallagher Band.
