TRAUMHAUS - Delivered / The other side

Kategorie: CD-Reviews | Genre: Prog | Heft: Jahrgang 2014, eclipsed Nr. 162 / 7-8-2014 | VÖ-Jahr: 2014 | Wertung: 7.5/10 | Label: Progressive Promotion | Autor: SaS

After the great critical success of their latest album, their first on Progressive Promotion, the label has now re-released the first two records of the band around Alexander Weyland. In the new, very chic design, you can now buy the works delivered (2001) and the other side (2008), which were sold out for a long time. It is worthwhile to retrace the beginnings of Dream House, because Weyland and his changing comrades-in-arms have been unswervingly following their own paths from the very beginning. The German vocals, which remind us of the Seventies heroes of Novalis quite quickly, take some getting used to, especially when they sound in a stylistically not yet quite to the point environment like on the debut. Which doesn't mean that this album isn't worth exploring as well. But the true stroke of luck is "The Other Side", which the band already shows in its full creative power and especially with the three-part title track knows how to fully convince. On both albums there are two bonus tracks each, whereby above all the 2014 English-language version of "Das Geheimnis" may give a glimpse into the future of Traumhaus.
