JOHN MAYALL - "Legend Of The Blues" Farewell Tour 2022

Blues legend JOHN MAYALL is coming back on Farewell Tour with new album in 2022 after a successful tour for 2019 album "Nobody told me". Most of the dates are rescheduled from autumn 2021. This is probably the last chance to see the blues songwriter live with his band in Germany!

JOHN MAYALL, often referred to as the "Godfather of British Blues", looks back on a career spanning over 50 years. The English blues singer, pianist, harmonica player, guitarist and songwriter founded the band JOHN MAYALL & The Bluesbreakers in the 1960s - a group whose changing members included a who's who of well-known blues and rock guitarists, including Eric Clapton, Peter Green, Jack Bruce, Mick Taylor, Walter Trout, Coco Montoya and Buddy Whittington.

In 1969, MAYALL moved permanently to Los Angeles. JOHN MAYALL became known and revered for his numerous jazz, rock and blues innovations over the next three decades. Joining him at the time were such stellar performers as Blue Mitchell, Larry Taylor and Harvey Mandel. A succession of dynamic albums earned him the greatest acclaim, including the Grammy-nominated "Wake Up Call," which featured Buddy Guy, Mavis Staples, Albert Collins and Mick Taylor.

In 2008 MAYALL decided to retire the Bluesbreakers and started a new era in 2009. He toured with Rocky Athas (guitar), Jay Davenport (drums) and Greg Rzab (bass) for seven years, playing an average of 100 shows a year and releasing four studio albums with them. During that time, he also released never-before-heard live albums from 1967 featuring Peter Green, Jon McVie and Mick Fleetwood.

A gig in 2016 had to be played without guitarist Rocky Athas out of necessity, and the sound prompted MAYALL to make the bold decision to switch to a trio formation. 2018 saw the release of "Three For The Road."

In 2019, JOHN MAYALL hired Carolyn Wonderland as their new lead guitarist. She was the first woman ever to hold that position in MAYALL's bands. An illustrious group of other musicians are featured as guests: Todd Rundgren, Joe Bonamassa, Steven Van Zandt and Larry McCray. Carolyn, meanwhile, is breaking new ground with her own band. Melvin Taylor takes her place. He started his career on Chicago's famous Maxwell Street in the 70s.

JOHN MAYALL is very excited to introduce Melvin Taylor to his fans and share more exciting music live. Taylor will also be joining MAYALL for the recording of his new studio album, which has been announced for 2022.
