OPETH - new single from the upcoming album "In Cauda Venenum"

OPETH's new album "In Cauda Venenum" will be released on September 27th. The band released a bilingual single for the first new song of the album "Hjärtat Vad Vad Handen Gör"/"Heart In Hand". Fans can also now pre-order the album at www.opeth.com/stores

Singer, guitarist and songwriter Mikael Åkerfeldt comments on the new track as follows: "Hjärtat Vet Vad Handen Gör' or 'Heart In Hand' as the English version is called, was one of the first songs I wrote for "In Cauda Venenum". I quickly realized that it would be a strong contender for the first single and the guess turned out to be true. I like to leave it to the label or management to choose the singles because I don't care - I put the same amount of work into each of the songs so I don't have any favorites. But this track here is probably very straight forward and gets to the point quickly. A pretty rocky little thing. It also has a 'lucky mistake' in it, which was caused by Mendez Bass pulling up his hooves during the recordings. At that time he played an old Hofner Beatles-like bass, which suddenly started to growl really nastily. But it sounded so cool that we just decided to leave it in the song. I love it when strange coincidences happen, but they fit perfectly into the concept at the end. So here's the first taste of the new OPETH album and I hope you like the song. But all tracks on the disc are very different and represent a different side of us. Have fun!"
