This CD is unique and absolutely great. That should actually be enough as a description. Some additional information is still given. Rodrigo and Gabriela are two Mexican guitarists who once started in a metal band. At some point, they realized that they could also put everything they heard in extreme rock into an acoustic version on two guitars. Over a number of albums they have acquired their very own style by buying a complete band on twelve strings without overdubs, guests or studio frills. They abstain from all the virtuoso muscle play that you hear so often in acoustic guitarists and deliver a compact band sound that makes the roots in metal still audible. Their songs are rousing in every respect and inspire all those who can't get anything out of this kind of guitar playfulness. The song oriented discipline is the opposite of the gigantism of "Friday Night In San Francisco". If you don't want to believe it, just give it a try.
