Gerd Weyhing from Palatinate once attended a guitar crash course on soundscapes with Robert Fripp. You can hear that. Similar to the King-Crimson-Elder-Statesman you can hardly hear out of Weyhing's slowly unfolding electronic sounds what is based on guitar and what is based on synthesizer. He offers three longtracks with his second disc. It flirts and buzzes on "Icyclokinesis" until a distorted guitar cultivates the wider musical field. Slowly the room is filled. A kind of acoustic is added. Sphere strings then. Finally, sequencers. A beautiful fever dream like on a sun meadow painted by Van Gogh. Multilated Serenity" combines discreet choral and drones sounds with percussion. This is less meditation here than sound excursion. The mysterious-psychedellic "Dubh Artach" then dives deep into the subconscious with its echo sounder. The electronic sound design is also reminiscent of the good old Eberhard Schoener. The distorted electric guitar plays enraptured with slightly Celtic motives. A fine new voice in the demanding ambient cosmos.
