Founded in Barcelona in 2010, Prisma Circus now presents its full-length debut. The eight tracks don't take any prisoners, but mostly cut out in high-speed grooves and guitar solos that you don't know whether to smile or cry about. It's highly stereotypical, but it's also cleverly done. The singing, in the few quiet passages, is reminiscent of The Doors. All tracks are also somehow touched by the blues. Led Zeppelin (only much faster) is something you might think of. Really every song offers at least one frickeliges guitar solo. In "Napalm" the Spanish power trio even plays a drum solo. Who else puts this on a studio album? Of course Primal Circus exaggerate it, but why shouldn't one be allowed to let the sod off? In "The Mirror", "Asylum's Gate" and "John Doe's Paranoia" the guitar breaks speed records. The technical capabilities are always available for this purpose. "Cain" is acoustic for a change and the bass player shows what he is made of. So much consistency deserves respect.
