A new supergroup of the avant-garde is born. The Unsemble is the summit meeting of Einstürzende Neubauten Alexander Hacke, the guitarist of The Jesus Lizard and Tomahawk, Duane Denison and the keyboardist and drummer of the Silver Jews, Brian Kotzun. Together they lay down a series of torso-like improvisations that could hardly be drier and more minimalist. Since they do without any vocals, they get the impression that this is a kind of big fat mass that is supposed to become real songs. But despite their brevity, these pieces unfold a strong meditative pull. No idea is rolled out even one second longer than necessary. The Unsemble" is based on well-known set pieces, which are completely reassembled and appear in their entirety like a weathered scrap metal heap of the unused possibilities of rock'n'roll. Below the entire music lies a laconic basic tone, which cannot be expressed in words, but which is clearly revealed in the attitude of the three pragmatic sound adventurers.
