The French keyboarder Cyrille Verdeaux occasionally falls into the fields of Prog. Then he slips into his vehicle Clearlight. This first happened in 1975, when he published the "Clearlight Symphony". After three more albums in the seventies the time had come again in 2003: The "Infinite Symphony" saw the light of day. And now Verdeaux presents his Third Symphony, which, as the name suggests, focuses on Impressionism à la Ravel and Debussy. Again he has gathered several Gong comrades (Tim Blake, Steve Hillage, Didier Malherbe) as well as The Muffins drummer Paul Sears. The result is a mixture of classical symphonic elements, instrumental prog and jazz as well as world music borrowings, which in its most accessible moments is reminiscent of the epics of Mike Oldfield, but in which the individual elements are often not interwoven with each other, but rather irritatingly placed next to each other. Classical music and prog were already amalgamated more convincingly.
