ALISE JOSTE - Alise Joste

The dainty Latvian Alise Joste writes fragile songs and sings them with a birdie voice. This is reminiscent of the early seventies or the much later Neofolk boom. Mostly she accompanies herself traditionally at the Klamp. A song with the name "Angina" (scientific: Angina Pectoris, colloquial: Brustenge) fits perfectly to the shyness of the little lady. Of course she does classic storytelling, which is why she also knows something about "Sailor's Daughter". Since she has already performed abroad, in France, one track is called "Paris". Heartbreak songs like "Whenever I Am Gone" about the loss of love are, of course, also available and you want to take them almost comfortingly in your arms. Everything on their debut is like the birds chirping a song in front of the window. But all songs are composed and recorded at almost the same tempo without much variation. The young woman has to go out and discover much more of herself, in which she then lets us participate on her next longplayer.
