Kurt Vile is no longer with us. But that's no reason for Adam Granduciel to end the War On Drugs. Also with the second album after the departure of his buddy he does everything right. "Lost In Dreams" offers great moments for one hour, which are not as rocky as the ones of the boss and also not as pompous as the Simple Minds. But here we have the superstructure of how to act with The War On Drugs. Besides, the band from Philadelphia takes all the liberties they need. Who can afford to kick off an album that belongs more to the genre of pop than rock with an eight-minute song? And it's completely relaxed, too. With "Under The Pressure" a relaxed pop song unfolds over a striking piano motif, which captivates you with its epic components. "Red Eyes has it, the driving beat of a song like Dancing In The Dark. And by the way, powerful hit potential. With the wavy "Burning" one strokes Robert Smith tenderly through the crow's nest.
