London songwriter Lyla Foy has already released the much acclaimed debut album "No Secrets" under the pseudonym Wall. Now she dares to go public under a real name. The motto was again to achieve as much expression as possible with minimal means. The opener "Honeymoon" sounds almost like Kate Bush on Low-Fi. The voice is actually close to it, the electric piano sounds like noise, the sound and instrument means are spartan compared to the great Englishwoman. The next title is much more Upbeat, almost Motown, of course also here in the Low-Fi garb. In "Impossible" for the first time the guitar is allowed to shape the events. "Easy" reminds a little of the lascivious pop innocence of the Cyndi Lauper, the title track pumps itself into the ear canals on harmonium swings with a gentle puff. The album's beats seem to come from a simple electronic rhythm device. Only rarely does the foy venture out of its self-made low-fi jungle, but with "Warning" and clarinets it succeeds in creating another wonderful pop gem at the end.
