The French electronic musician Bertrand Loreau used for a while certain pieces live as accompanying music and called this the "Sequences" album. Now he has created a fully-fledged new studio work from these musical live sketches. The whole thing starts like a lot with Klaus Schulze. It rattles and the solo synthie sings a machine song. Wide string surfaces enrich the sound. The second track paints a simpler, purely atmospheric picture. Then Loreau takes a lot of time to build up a suspense arc from shimmering sequencers. Much is reminiscent of the "Berlin School", albeit formulated in a more lyrical way. "Rue Colbert", on the other hand, is a very melodic and romantic piece more in the tradition of Jean Michel Jarre or Vangelis. The twenty-minute long track "Libourne Part 2" looks like an electronic walk through nature. "Libourne Part 3" imitates opera singing. The last piece, "Libourne Part 4", sounds like a romantic fever dream. Loreau is like a Klaus Schulze with French flair.
