With their six previous albums, the Swedes Sabaton have become one of the most successful bands in recent heavy metal history. And that with tons of sweetishly tough bombast (whereby the keyboard paste moves a little into the background this time), easily understandable song structures and melodies with which one could easily survive at any Schlager party. It is a sound without corners and edges, with which the quintet, which has meanwhile changed to three positions, was able to pick up a platinum award for "Carolus Rex" in their homeland and even received honorary citizenship in Poland. The only question is, how did it get this far? You still can't assign your own style to the band. "Heroes" is like hardly any other album of the quintet a hollow string of dozens of chewed through clichés for dull celebrating hordes: Heavy Metal from its most kitschy side. The fact that you sing of various war heroes of the 20th century in this way is downright perfidious. At least that's war trivial.
