Music from the Faroe Islands is known from the songwriter Guðrið Hansdóttir. Guðrun Paetursdóttir and Bartal Augustinussen are long-time members of their live band. Now the singer and the guitarist have put down their own finely spun folk album, which on the one hand follows the tradition of Scandinavian enchanted fairy folk, but on the other hand also has pop and even psychedelic qualities. At first they are only humming to the guitar, but with "Bryr" keyboards and percussion expand the horizon to slightly jazzy chamber pop. "Leidarin" is then really nice spherical songwriter-pop, floy guitar included. Pieces like "Vinurin" and "Brotid" finally transcend the Nur Netter Pop arbitrariness boundary and table psychedelic folk pop with distorted guitar, synth and cello, close to Ane Brun's showpiece artpop. For lovers of Scandinavian Folkpops, this light-footed record is ideal. And you discover more and more details with repeated listening.
