With the great Grails and the equally impressive Drone Band Om, Emil Amos has already proven his talent as a sound designer, Holy Sons is now his new alter ego. Between Postrock, Artrock, Folk and Avantgarde the songwriter and drummer from Portland, Oregon finds his very own terrain to realize his restrained and yet extremely sophisticated songs. The tracks are not immediately catchy, but rather have a psychedelic fascination. Whether you like it or not, you can't get rid of these sluggish and wobbly structures. Between the instruments, he makes sounds audible of which no one can say exactly where they come from. The sound seems to unfold here on the path of pure magic. The song title "Transparent Power" describes the motto of this production quite aptly. The ear penetrates very slowly through a sound membrane that seems cloudy at first, in order to record each individual sound more and more clearly, until one believes to be a sound in itself at the end. A wonderful transformation.
