The Dutch skip the high bar with their debut "Nightingale Express" easily and elegantly on their second album. Mysteriously dabbed guitar sounds, followed by mysterious bass and suspenseful drums, first lure the listener instrumentally into the sound worlds of the band. The vocals start late at the opener "A Brief Moment Of Future". Fons Herder determines the melody and dramatic intensification with a voice that is at first more gentle, then more and more penetrating and louder. But not only the opener fascinates. Each track builds its own tension. Whether polyphonic vocals reminiscent of Clannad, but also strongly reminiscent of Anathema ("Drifting Star") or a cotton-soft, deep-black bass sound, which makes a charming contrast to the high vocals of "The Largest Fire" and leads groovy into Dreampop-like guitar walls and back to the vocal verse - the journey into the most diverse sound worlds remains consistently exciting. Even a more than seven minutes long instrumental piece like "Hurled In The Sun" grabs you like a thriller with its tempo and atmosphere changes from earthy rocking to calm and dreamy.
