It starts almost like Springsteen's "The River" with this typical harmonica and then the campfire guitar. Even the song title "For You" could be a "The Boss" title. But the music comes from the Swedish songwriter Kristofer Åström. Anyway, this is a nice acoustic country rock entry into his new album. He left his rock band Fireside at home and recorded twelve intimate acoustic pieces for it. The "Queen Of Sorrow" could also come from Crosby, Still & Nash with a few more vocal tracks. Other tracks are reminiscent of Neil Young and his country showcase album "Harvest", the discreetly electrified "Taser Gun" is reminiscent of a Crazy Horse band without their boss Neil Young handing out guitar broadsides. The beguilingly ethereal nine-minute ballad "Full Moon" and the protest folk song "Can You Imagine" are located in the immediate vicinity of Connor Oberst's indie folk. The finale is elegiac with "Forget About It": String streaks dance around the calmly plucked acoustic on the background of swelling and decaying background male voices. A most sympathetic album for quiet hours.
