BLACK RAINBOWS - Supermothafuzzalicious!!

Kategorie: CD-Reviews | Genre: Psychedelic/Space Rock, Stoner/Desertrock | Heft: Jahrgang 2012, eclipsed Nr. 138 / 3-2012 | VÖ-Jahr: 2012 | Wertung: 7/10 | Label: Heavy Psych Sounds | Autor: BSV

At first you think you have to smile pitifully at the Black Rainbows. Her Heavy Psych is stereotypically stuffed with guitar riffs and dirty vocals. And the lyrics really don't seem to leave out any clichés. The following word sequences may serve as samples: "Rock'n'Roll is my life and soul", or "Everybody's singing 'Oh yeah‛" or "Ready to burn the nation, with some Rock'n'Roll action". Mind you, these three come from the opener "Burn Your Nation" alone. But smile is here soon only announced for one reason: The Italians do their thing on the third album "Supermotherfuck..." - "Supermothafuzzalicious!" really good. Sure, you've heard it all a thousand times for 40 years from other bands. And the trio seems to have put the most creativity into the album title. But what the hell? The guitar riffs are working. Those who are not swept away by the grooves must have a Valium family pack. And when Gabriele Fiori sings: "Laaaaaaaady, I want you all night loooooong", you just have to smile.
