It was clear that the two EPs "The Game Of Monogamy" and "Bigamie", which Tim Kasher released under his name in 2010 and 2011 respectively, were only excursions. Cursive is and remains his first playground. "I Am Gemini" is really already the sixth album of the Saddle Creek institution, which twelve years ago with the phenomenal "Domestica" laid the foundation for a very large magnificent building and three years later with the overpowering "The Ugly Organ" showed what was possible. And it is precisely this unusual madness, these uncontrollable outbursts of temperament that can now be found on "I Am Gemini". The theme of the concept album is so complex that it could fit a Progrock work. Nevertheless, the songs have hardships that are also surprising for Cursive. It seems as if Kasher had saved her up for this very special album, which on the one hand flirts with noise ("Drunken Birds"), but on the other hand is almost really prog ("Twin Shadow/ Hello Skeleton").
