Kevin Barnes has once again pimped his band by integrating parts of the live line-up and throwing some more into the race. On "Paralytic Stalks" a sky full of violins, choirs and the trumpets of Jericho resound. Barnes really crazy and unique songwriting arrives with these ingredients once more at the peak of his genius. There's the ELOOvation "Dour Percentage", covered with flutes and timpani, which is crazy enough to kick all the clichés and footnotes out of the race. "Spiteful Intervention" is glam rock in the best Ziggy-Stardust style. "Ye, Renew The Plaintiff" contains besides a wicked guitar solo once more enough changes and ideas to fill a whole album with others. The introductory acoustic guitars in "Wintered Debts" deceive about what is to follow here, namely a lengthy excursion into the world of self-forgotten psychpops, in which the violins jubilate for the first time in the highest spheres. Unfortunately, they don't seem to want to leave the scenery any more and paste the last 20 minutes of music with their presence.
