BUDDHA SENTENZA - South Western Lower Valley Rock

Kategorie: CD-Reviews | Genre: Psychedelic/Space Rock | Heft: Jahrgang 2013, eclipsed Nr. 151 / 6-2013 | VÖ-Jahr: 2013 | Wertung: 8/10 | Label: World In Sound | Autor: BSV

Technically there are 14 tracks on "South Western Lower Valley Rock". But actually there are only seven regular songs, each preceded by a short intro. Numbered according to the Greek alphabet from Alpha to Eta, these intros not only form the connecting links, but also provide a continuous musical journey and create an atmospheric tension. After a self-produced demo "South Western Lower Valley Rock" is the first official release of Buddha Sentenza. While "Time Wave Zero", "Arrested Development" and "Spanish Revenge" are still dirty guitar rock with rich grooves, deep occasioned sound, fat organs and all sorts of surprises (piano solo, trippy instrumental passages), the almost nine-minute "Debris Moon" comes across as a relaxed psychedelic meditation. A violin plays in "The Monkey Stealing The Peaches" as well as in the quiet "Psychonaut" with his exotic percussion. A mature work of the band founded in Heidelberg in 2008, which easily manages without vocals.
