Max Schiefele alias Maxxess oscillates between his love for floydy sounds and his passion for heavy guitar chords. But on his new CD he pays homage to a new flame: the green glittering, high-proof drink called Absinthe, made from herbs like wormwood, anise and fennel, around which many myths entwine. And so the "Green Fairy" journey begins with the song "Destilled Reality" with lovingly arranged acoustic guitars, on which of course the typical electric and electronic lightning storms are piled up. "Thujone Incantation" takes its time and is just as hypnotic as a Tangerine Dream track. Towards the end there are violent eruptions on the electric guitar, the trademark of Maxxess. The title track works more strongly with sequencing, can afford this with the brachial guitar without losing steam, and docks to the cosmos of Shamall. Also "Absinthe Desolation" is a powerful guitar player, almost in heavy metal way. At the end of the "Green Hour" you can say goodbye to the night's camp with symphonic sounds after having consumed a lot of musical absinthe.
