Primus with an imaginary soundtrack to a film classic. Printed and adventurous, as one knows Les Claypool and his band, they also go to work on "Primus & The Chocolate Factory With The Fungi Ensemble". However, they extended the battle zone to finally become a kind of Monty Python muppet of alternative rock. With Vibrafon and Brass Section, they are a mixture of cabaret troupe, marching band and jazz band. The pieces are as short in detail as the CD as a whole, most themes repeat themselves incessantly and only increase in terms of pathos. This concept album needs getting used to, you have to enjoy unusual sound combinations, claustrophobic singing and arhythmic stomping. But those who bring all these prerequisites with them will enjoy this absurd piece of the cabinet very much. Above all, the trio finally recommends itself as a legitimate successor to Frank Zappa. "Primus & The Chocolate Factory With The Fungi Ensemble" is a jewel of conceptual art rock.
