On his current disc, Tinsley Ellis pulls out all the stops of his ability. Acoustic blues ("If The River Keeps Rising"), power blues ("Mouth Turn Dry"), a humorous country rocker ("It's Not Funny"), midtempo shuffle with imaginative breaks ("The Only Thing") and a slow, heavy blues rocker put the solos, the bearish vocals and above all Ellis' newly found self-confidence regarding his songwriting in the foreground. One of his best albums.
