Today, at 57, the superstar of the 80s is at home in the world of art and theatre - as a director, scriptwriter and composer. Which is why her current project "Lover, Beloved" also proves to be a mixture of a studio album and her now second stage play about the US writer Carson McCullers (1917-1967). Vega admits with a smile that she is almost a bit obsessed with her: "I have the feeling that she was far ahead of her time and suffered a lot from it. She was socially critical, bisexual, exceptionally talented and very sensitive. In addition, she was already seriously ill as a young girl, she had health problems all her life. When she was 30, she suffered a stroke and remained paralyzed on one side. Nevertheless, she worked every day, and her work is characterized by a combative touch. I admire her for that."
