The US band around brothers Patrick and Dan McGowan (both vocals and guitar) was known for their mixture of prog and alternative. On their fourth album "Grappling" there is hardly anything left to be heard of Alternative. Maybe it's because (again) the musicians on bass, drums and keyboards were completely replaced. The quintet creates a more than idiosyncratic interpretation of (retro-)prog... with virtuoso guitar work and a clearly increased share of the keys in the overall sound.
