GENESIS - THE GABRIEL YEARS

It's done: After years of waiting, the last of the three Genesis box sets has finally been released! It contains the albums of the years 1970 to 1975. The eclipsed annual review

The top event of the music year 2008 had nothing to do with music: The election of the 44th US president called on well-known rock'n'rollers to show their colours publicly. In addition, 2008 was also a year of consolidation for the rock and pop scene as a result of the music industry's security thinking. Nevertheless, creativity sought and found its way to the surface.

PAUL McCARTNEY/THE FIREMAN
Always one step ahead of yourself

After the end of the Beatles, Paul McCartney climbed one commercial peak after another, but he hardly sought artistic challenges. At the age of 66, however, he no longer seems to be satisfied with his view of life's yield. Shortly after, he reanimated the project The Fireman, which he had run in the 90s with Killing-Joke-Bassist Youth. On the new album "Electric Argument" he slips into 13 different roles that sound like everything but Paul McCartney.

The artist spoke with eclipsed about her career, her homeland and the role of pop music in social discourse.

After the break, does the farewell follow?

KLAUS DOLDINGER'S PASSPORT
The Krautjazz Giants

For almost four decades Klaus Doldingers group Passport has been one of the world's leading jazz rock formations. The cast has changed several times since the beginning, but Doldingers handwriting has remained the same. The saxophonist and composer of such well-known film and TV melodies as "Das Boot" and "Tatort" is still a seeker. On his new CD "On Stage" he looks back with Passport and eclipsed with him.

PURCHASE SHEET THE CURE - Happy Sad

The Cure are the life's work of Robert Smith. For years the only permanent member has declared that the band is on the verge of breaking up, but time and again it cuts a new album out of its ribs. And the recordings always maintain the high basic level of the gloomy clique, which rarely decays into self-plagiarism.

GUNS N' ROSES

Motown at 50
