eclipsed Woodstock Extra

WOODSTOCK
Picnic and Revolution

The hippie spectacle in (the vicinity of) Woodstock cannot be compared to any other rock festival. Despite Monterey, Isle Of Wight (1968-70) or contemporary events such as Coachella, Roskilde or Glastonbury, Woodstock is and remains a legendary symbol of the combination of commitment and ecstasy, protest and profit.

WOODSTOCK: THE MAKERS

Two business types and two freaks: That was the constellation of the core team that created a pop culture myth with the Woodstock Festival. But there were other people who made Woodstock Woodstock.

THE CONCERTS

Despite all the adversity, almost all the concerts planned for Woodstock went off the stage. Some of the thirty or so performances were not even planned, but were born out of necessity. The spontaneity and improvisation skills of the organizers and musicians are also part of the Woodstock myth.

THE INTERVIEWS

Exclusive interviews with those who were there: Musicians, photographers, organizers! Among others with Graham Nash, Richie Havens, Gregg Rolie (Santana), Miller Anderson (Keef Hartley Band), Steve Katz (Blood, Sweat & Tears), Ric Lee (Ten Years After), Sweetwater as well as many other quotes, statements and all facts about Woodstock!

But the dream lasted only a few years. Egocentrism, hedonism and an unleashed materialism suddenly overlaid the hippie ideals. Nevertheless, ideas that were spun in a creative time manifest themselves in many areas of society to this day.

HEAVEN & HELL Panic at the last
minute

Tony Iommi finally has the greatness not to call his new band project Black Sabbath. With Ronnie James Dio, Geezer Butler and Vinny Appice, all the comrades-in-arms already traded under the name Black Sabbath. "I could and should have done it, but I didn't want to," says Iommi..
