The US-American Prog veterans Steve Babb and Fred Schendel have reinvented themselves numerous times with their project Glass Hammer. But they always had the reputation of being a Yes clone - for some a flaw, for others the accolade. Be that as it may, an ensemble has now come together under the direction of the two of them, with whom they can swim their way out of the waters of the British Prog institution once and for all. Babb's mighty creaking, crunchy bass sound still reminds us of Chris Squire. But first of all so many basses sound and secondly this doesn't make a yes-song yet. The newcomers Aaron Raulston (dr) and Kamran Alan Shikoh (g), who bring very interesting jazz borrowings, also contribute to the fresh sound of the group. They have also changed the harmony singing at Glass Hammer. And if it does go in the direction of Yes (as in "Crowbone"), then at most in their "Relayer" phase. The other seven songs have something of Canterbury's or something of the Baroque ("Ozymandias"), but above all something of their own. Class restart, please keep it up!
