With the album "Waking Season" in 2012 Caspian set out to catch up to the top of New Artrock. The sextet from Massachusetts had succeeded in making a recording that was widely praised. A relatively quick successor, using the momentum of success, would certainly have been opportune. However, the death of bassist and Caspian co-founder Chris Friedrich intervened. The band has come to terms with the loss and presents itself stronger than ever.
