THE SAZERAC SWINGERS - 3 Guys Named Louis

The current music scene lacks bands and individual interpreters who focus on originality rather than on two-week trends. The Sazerac Swingers offer a pleasant exception. The six-piece band offers an original and rhythmically sophisticated swing sound, which can be set in a dive in New Orleans, in a dance hall of the Roaring Twenties or at a beach bar in Acapulco. The first-class studio recording, which lives from the warm and organic sound, conveys a strong live feeling, which raises the question, how it will go off at a gig of the guys. "Dance-legged" Calypso ("Run Joe"), Old-Time-Jazz ("I Wanna Be Like You"), rousing Rhythm'n'Blues ("Pennies From Heaven") and Bar-Jazz ("Do You Know What It Means To Miss New Orleans?") radiate an incomparable authenticity. Great album with good mood guarantee, but a Digipak would have been better than a Papersleeve. Oh yes, and when will the vinyl edition be released?
