Unity and justice and postrock. The German hype knows no bounds. The Bavarians alone have provided us with a wealth of magnificent instrumental bands in recent years: Omega Massif, Fitzcarraldo, Instrument, Dear John Letter. But the Hamburg-based Collapse Under The Empire also published a kind of national reference work in 2011. And now there's also a noise from Saxony. With their "Red Sessions" the sound inventors from Dresden place themselves on the German postrock map. And yes, the record is good. Damn good, actually. Technically sophisticated, deeply rooted in experimental Nineties Shoegaze and with My- Bloody-Valentine-Hommagen. In addition there are occasionally alienated vocals, groovy riffs and the meanwhile obligatory math rock touch. The East finally has the postrock heroes it deserves. The unique selling point of Audiocæneat! is clearly its rich variety of details, e.g. in the mammoth track "Idylla": Not everyone can produce a homogeneous loud-quiet mix including mathematical frizz (and atmosphere!) in 16 minutes. An album for the headphones!
