CHRIS KRAMER - Kramer is coming!

Kategorie: CD-Reviews | Genre: Blues/Bluesrock | Heft: Jahrgang 2012, eclipsed Nr. 139 / 4-2012 | VÖ-Jahr: 2012 | Wertung: 6/10 | Label: Blow Till Midnight | Autor: AT

Chris Kramer has released a lot in recent years, so that a CD with somewhat weaker material was to be expected at some point. But with his honest and humorous lyrics and his harmonica contributions he can still score points. The new record is too far away from Blues and Bluesrock. A cool "Bo" (dedicated to Bo Diddley), pub blues ("Mädchen aus Berlin") and blues with a sharp slide guitar ("Betriebsurlaub") do have atmosphere. But a shallow "Gute Zeiten" with an intro reminiscent of the dreaded princes and "Du bist das Licht" with its unpleasant pop refrain disturb the flow. Instead of publishing so often, Kramer should remember his roots and record a good blues record in peace and quiet. Fuck radio compatibility.
