Marillion and transatlantic bassist Pete Trewavas and New Yorker Eric Blackwood have already joined forces in 2011 with "In The Last Waking Moments...". Now they are back with an even more powerful concept album. Again they recorded all instruments themselves with the exception of a few guest contributions (Henry Rogers, drums). In the liner notes you can read that the mysterious and dark story about an offworld experience is based on true experiences. Reason enough to listen carefully. "Silhouette" is a 13-piece mega-opus over an hour long. The hypnotic sound cosmos unfolds slowly and manifoldly; this is very big music cinema, where one can take a deep breath. Sound spheres between Marillion, Timothy Pure and Shamall open up. In singing, Blackwood and Trewavas alternate continuously. Rushing or finely chiselled guitars, Arabic oud, densely woven keyboard surfaces, strings and accentuated drums. Alone in the twelve-minute floydige epic "III. Where Were You?" you can fall in love forever. Please listen in!
