Make three into one. When two people took their hats in the promising band Mars Hollow, their rhythm crew, consisting of Kerry Chicoine (b, voc) and Jerry Beller (dr), teamed up with musicians from two other bands (Gabble Ratchet and Ten Jinn) to indulge in the prog. The debut album of the five-piece changes unerringly between crimsonesque chaos prog ("New Frontier", "Mr. Wishbone") and melodic symphonic prog à la Yes. This is more likely to be singer Scott Jones with his high voice and keyboarder Matt Brown, while in the more accessible tracks Michael Matier's guitar comes more to your right. All in all the record is dominated by the (partly polyphonic) vocals and keyboards, which is a bit monotonous in the long run. The concluding longtrack "Love And Inspiration" shows how the instruments can be put in a more equal and therefore more diversified light. Altogether one wishes Heliopolis also a little more independence and courage to the unusual.
