Interstatic is a trio with the two Norwegians Jacob Young and Jarle Wespestad on guitar and drums and the British keyboarder Roy Powell, who on his third album "Arise" follows the best tradition of Tony Williams' Lifetime. The jazz rock broadsides of the band have a high seventies appeal. Powell's affinity to classical jazz rock with a strong prog impact has been known since his King Crimson knee fall Mumpbeak. And Jarle Wespestad has also proven his poison kitchen ambitions with Supersilent. Surprisingly, however, this power package comes from the guitarist, who has always been very dreamy and transfigured on his own releases so far. None of this can be felt on this Tour de Force.
