Kill It Kid have already made an impression with two albums to date, initially between Alternative Country and folk rock by Mumford & Sons with violin. However, the acoustic sounds on the third album - the first under major label flag - have largely disappeared. Meanwhile the band is at home in hard brushed blues rock according to free tradition and also offers riff work that reaches the lead weight of Audioslave ("I'll Be The First"). The smoking electro blues lead "Black It Out" sets the tone with Christ Turpin's rasp throat and fully distorted guitar: The early work of the Black Keys was also not more wild. "Sick Case Of Loving You" is a deeply swinging Grooverock track and stands for the intelligent interplay of the singing voices of Turpin and keyboard player Stephanie Ward. The tear puller "Caroline" reminiscent of the Kings Of Leon reveals the arena rock potential of the British. But much more hearty is her unleashed style of Heavy Blues. Despite the major production conditions, it looks pleasingly untamed.
