With their second album Kismet deliver an exciting mixture of grunge, psychedelic, hard rock and stoner rock. "Trudging Your Soul", her debut, which fortunately will be re-released, was a first exclamation mark. "Shades Of Clarity" follows on from it, but also leads beyond it. Songs like "Aeternal Blame" or "Happy Road" can only be really grasped after listening to them two or three times and it's exactly this depth that makes Kismet so exciting after the first listening session. One immediately senses what is still to be discovered there. Even if you wouldn't necessarily immediately suspect this with the almost metallic power, Kismet's new album is a clear case for darkened rooms and headphones. Only then does the entire spectrum unfold. Above all Albert Enos changeable voice digs itself so still deeper into one's consciousness. His star moment is "Carry Me Down", a hypnotic song that is not easy to get rid of. Some other tracks sound a bit too clever. With cunning, you're not always at an advantage.
