At the beginning of the nineties The Quireboys made a big leap with their debut album "A Bit Of What You Fancy". This is followed by appearances at prominent festivals and the joint tour with Guns N' Roses at "Use Your Illusion" times. But already after the second album "Bitter Sweet & Twisted" they went down with the London formation, which combined Hardrock with Rhythm'n'Blues. Now the fifth studio album since the partial reunion of the band in 2001 is available with "Black Eyed Sons". Already with the driving opening track "Troublemaker" the group around singer Spike and guitarist Guy Griffin, who belonged to the original line-up, sets an exclamation mark: The Quireboys are off with the best (almost live-sounding) sound you can imagine for this style. At least as intense and with a melancholic touch, the worn "Stubborn Kinda Heart" forms the clear highlight of the album, because there Spikes friction voice, the guitarlicks and the keyboards result in a particularly harmonious symbiosis. A live CD from the unplugged appearance at the Sweden Rock Festival and a live DVD from the "Beautiful Curse" tour sweeten the purchase by another.
