Sean Costello did not live to be 30 years old, but he left behind an impressive work that is honoured here with 20 selected titles. The traditionally oriented guitarist and singer moved between jazz/blues ("The Plumber", "Big Beaver"), casual swing ("Mellow Chick Swing"), dirty blues rock ("Walking Blues"), fast boogie ("Who's Been Cheatin' Who"), songs that John Mayall already covered, but which in Costello's version sounded fascinating old-fashioned ("All Your Love (I Miss Your Loving)"), and blues with plenty of rockabilly ("Take Me Back"). If this original and at the same time traditionally oriented musician had received more support, he could have become the most popular protagonist of the genre. Absolute recommendation!
