Since their debut "It's Happening" Straight Arrows are a new star in Australian garagepop heaven. "Rising" one hears that the band around Owen Penglis is quite aware of this position and wants to defend it. Half of the songs recorded in his house still have this low-fidelity character. The rest, created in the band's newly furnished studio, comes across more clearly and seems to be freed from the dirt of the past. Nevertheless, "Rising" is still more punk than pop, the garage was only a little cleared out.
