At the moment there are only a few bands that spread such a tremendous power as Triggerfinger. The band name fits like the famous Faust on the eye. With "By Absence Of The Sun", recorded in Los Angeles with producer Greg Gordon (e.g. Slayer, System Of A Down), the Belgian trio has created twelve tracks that sound fresh and modern as well as traditionally grounded. You didn't promise too much four years ago with All This Dancin' Around. Steeled by countless tours both through clubs and as support for bands like the Rolling Stones, the power trio from Lier in the Flemish province of Antwerp can increase considerably. Contrary to the British trio The Brew, which started at about the same time and operates on a similarly high energy level, Triggerfinger's spectrum is even wider and a little more oriented towards the USA. Wonderfully, "By Absence Of The Sun" alternates clearly structured, almost sixties-sounding rockers like "There Isn't Time" with completely crazy noisemakers of the brand "Black Panic".
