Apples occasionally fall far from the trunk. And the descendants of Krautrock don't necessarily play Krautrock. Even though the sampler is called "Son Of Kraut" and has the subtitle "The Next Generation Of Krautrock", the stylistic characteristics of the original Krautrock can only be found to a limited extent on it. But that doesn't matter, because this 77-minute show of German bands, who have been on their toes for several years and yet can look back on the legends of the early seventies as if they were fathers, is simply fun. The following bands provide an enormous range of styles: Ear Tranceport, Space Debris, Sankt Otten, Electric Moon, Level Pi, The Perc Meets The Hidden Gentleman, Tarwater, RPWL, Electric Orange, Fantasyy Factoryy, Le Mur and Panzerballett. From Artrock to Psychedelic, 70s Rock, Electronics and Ethno-Rock to Jazzrock and Neokrautrock you will find everything possible and impossible. The special treat of "Son Of Kraut" is that seven of the twelve songs were previously unreleased, for example the - very successful - contributions by Electric Orange, Space Debris and Fantasyy Factoryy.
