Even if the master appears here rather stylish than excessive, "Mountain Climbing" bundles all qualities of Bonamassas twelfth studio album "Blues Of Desperation" in a perfect way: Biting songwriting, powerful groove and earthy guitar sounds refined by a top production.
The Jezabels have it with puns. The name of the Australian quartet derives from the biblical figure Jezebel (Jezebel), who is regarded as the epitome of the wicked woman. The title of the third CD "Synthia", on the other hand, expresses the newly found female self-confidence of Hayley Mary (voc) and Heather Shannon (key) and reflects their affinity for synthesizers. It is pleasing that the two ladies and their comrades-in-arms Sam Lockwood (g) and Nick Kaloper (dr) do not use the electronic miracle machines to conceal possible songwriting weaknesses.
