REBEKKA KARIJORD "Mother Tongue"

Rebekka Karijord

In the year before last Julia Holter landed with her album "Have You In My Wilderness" in several annual polls on the first place. Her ethereal, highly complex artpop had apparently hit a nerve. The Norwegian Rebekka Karijord strikes a similar notch, but her compositions on "Mother Tongue" are at least lyrically less abstract than those of her soulmate US colleague.
