The idea came from across the Atlantic: young women and men of all skin colors, musicians, students, pupils, apprentices and young workers, many with Christian backgrounds, looked for ways of life beyond the affluent society in the countryside - such hippie communities were motivated above all by the film "Easy Rider" and the Woodstock Festival. One of them, Lord's Family from the Upper Bavarian Beilngries, now receives a late appreciation: Sireena Records released the 10-inch disc "Innere Musik" with six titles (see "News From The Past", issue 212), which were created in the collective's domicile, a hunting lodge in the Altmühl valley.
This Krautrock-/Psychedelic formation was born in 1970 in a flat-sharing community in Nuremberg. Sepp Kuffer, keyboarder and graphic artist of the Bavarian hippies, put a film about the history of young women and men on the Internet in 2018. He remembers: "Rock music as a form of expression and carrier of alternative culture . . . exploded in a creative thrust unparalleled. This too was an American dream, but not of skylines and highways, but of a new culture of self-chosen poverty and spiritual country life." The music of Crosby, Stills & Nash was their inspiration, the dream of organic farming in the countryside and a grassroots democratic, anti-authoritarian and mystical way of life their driving force: "The new laws that Jimi Hendrix's east-west guitar riffs and Alan Ginsberg's recitations wrote into our hungry hearts, something archaic, pagan, crazy attached to this culture
After the move, over 20 "monks in jeans", as they were baptized by the media, "influenced by Christian mysticism and Eastern spirituality", lived in the hunting lodge belonging to the rich uncle of a group member. Kuffer: "We all tinkered with pieces, songs, lyrics, polyphonic sentences, and soon the different talents and talents showed up. Ali was a songwriter, Georg tended to make monumental arrangements of various composite parts, I wrote polyphonic movements to these pieces."
