With their third album "Between The Walls" the About Group does not move between any walls, but sits between all chairs. And consciously. Because their mixture of independent songs and artful artpop can't be broken down to one style. "Nightlife/Sinking" is a calm ballad in which the piano sneaks dreamily and the organ in the background somersaults. "All Is Not Lost" can't hide a certain affinity to funk and "Love Because" comes along as blues. The guitars in all the songs are full of shrill noises, which sometimes doesn't do them any good, while the organ and piano provide the perfect moments. "I Never Locked That Door" is a smooth country song, but garnished with strange synth sounds. Anyway, the About Group dares to put together some short tracks just from sounds and undefinable digital sounds. Thus "Between The Wall" always surprises anew, but unfortunately only rarely convinces.
