It took Toby Marks seven years for his new album, years in which he also released the show "Memories Dreams Reflections", with which he revealed his Prog roots through cover versions of Pink Floyd (the brilliant "Echoes"), King Crimson and Hawkwind, and set up a completely new studio. So you can't blame the World'n'Ambient pioneer for inactivity. With "Apollo", the eighth official album after all, he sets out his already broad Banco de Gaia claim even more generously. Apart from the rave suspicious Semi-Goa in "Eternal Sushine", this time the trip is rather casual. "Wimble Toot" manifests itself to a massive semi-reggae including a saxophone solo by Matt Jenkins, which is quite something. "Hu!" is casual, percussive oriental disco. And with the deliberate "All Sleeping" there is again a temptation that looks like Pink Floyd on Ambient. The voice of guest singer Zhenia Mahdi-Nau, reminiscent of Lisa Gerrard, also adds a very special touch to the album.
