For one album Circle were no longer Circle, but left their name to a Finnish darkmetal band. And recorded an album during this time as Falcon. But now the only true circles are back. Messrs Lehtisalo, Rättö, Westerlund and Leppänen (accompanied by two other guitarists) now call themselves either Circle or Circle (ex-Falcon) again. Leviatan" is a new album of the well-known Finnish hardcore avant-garde psychedelics. And something's really changed. If it wasn't for Circle, you'd never think it was the Finns. Acoustic acid folk is now the order of the day. All nine songs sound like a transcendent, dreamy meeting at a campfire somewhere in the forest. It's shamanistic, hypnotic. Dump percussion, always stoic fingerpicking on the acoustic guitar and the banjo, sometimes fast, sometimes slow. In addition, a deep voice that conjures up nature and spirits like a mantra. Circle are still mercilessly rhythmic and convince with their new style.
